Construction recycling and diversion · Kansas City and the Midwest

Construction recycling, planned around your diversion target.

Tell us your target before the first container lands. We'll plan the material streams for the job, send each one to a facility that processes it, and keep the ticket for every load.

Material streams

Where a load goes depends on what's in it.

Whether a load counts as recycled depends on the facility that receives it, so we choose the facility first and then send a container to match.

Commingled loads

How a mixed load gets split by material.

Clean loads are the simple ones. When a container of scrap metal goes to a metal recycler, it's recycled and the whole weight counts.

Commingled loads take one more step, because the facility has to sort the load and report what it found. The breakdown here is a real load from one of our projects, as the facility reported it.

That split usually comes back about a month after the haul. Until it does, the load is pending, and the report says so.

How diversion is calculated
Commingle load · facility breakdown2.56 tons net
Wood1.60 tons · 62%
Plastic0.77 tons · 30%
Paper and cardboard0.19 tons · 7%
Waste0.00 tons · 0%
2.56 of 2.56 tons recycled. That's three lines on the report with one ticket behind them.

How it runs

Every job runs in these four steps.

Step 01

Plan the streams

We set the material streams against your recycling target, LEED or the owner's own goal, before the job starts.

Step 02

Place the containers

We give each stream its own container, sized to the phase you're in.

Step 03

Route each load

We send every haul to a facility that processes that material.

Step 04

Keep the tickets

We weigh and ticket each load, and the ticket goes into your report.

Running LEED on this project?

Every haul we manage can count toward your diversion target.

We build the report from the scale tickets, match each load to what the receiving facility says it recycled, and sign it before it reaches your owner.
